Most of the times, it is not the true value of a thing or person that attract or repel us to them but our perception of their value. When we fail to recognize true value and we flow with the crowd to the wrong direction, we often do so because of our wrong perceptions about life which we have developed from other people, culture or personal needs. How far from truth our perception of a thing is depends on the quality of our knowledge and the people we associate with. To know Jesus is to know life.
If you have not done so, please respond to God's love today. Accept Jesus Christ and begin to look at the world through his eyes no matter what everyone else chooses to do. Jesus Christ is of far greater value than you think. If you already have a relationship with Jesus Christ, great. Choose to develop greater intimacy with him. The more of God's word is in us the better our judgment will be.
2 Peter 1:5-8 NLT
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
